Web Design Intern
. . .
During Winter 2018, I collaborated with MIT Media Lab's Tangible Media Lab as a Web Design Intern to research, develop and construct a platform for creators to learn more about the affordances of pneumatics and inflatable technologies. In doing so, we are empowering designers and engineers alike by providing a site of comprehensive resources to cultivate pneumatic innovation across all disciplines.
Phase One: Network
In the first phase of this project, I explored current pneumatic technologies. Analyzing this information, I defined (tentative) categories of inflatable research in relation to their structure-function:
Distilling the Details
Interest Areas Related to Structure-Function Property Organization. I separated content into six main categories with project subcategories as secondary lists:
Phase Two: Expand
The second phase marked the expansion from internal pneumatic research to external with respect to the project's information architecture. As I investigated non-MIT related pneumatics, I organized my findings into the following categories of applications.
